Do I have to be in good shape to train at Boot Camp?
No, not at all. Boot Camp suits everyone regardless of their physical
condition. The instructors push everyone to their personal limit so each
individual will get the maximum result from his training without
overdoing himself. See our
course directory to see which courses are available.
What are the workouts like?
Boot Camp’s main strength lies in its variety of training methods where
no two workouts are the same. Diverse exercises that combine strength
training, aerobic and anaerobic training will get you in your best
possible overall shape.
How often do I train at Boot Camp per week?
Each group has three, 1 hour long sessions per week. Every other week
there is a special two-hour workout session which takes place outdoors.
Boot Camp also has running, swimming and hiking groups that get together
once a week for additional training. We also have a facility with a
weight lifting room, rowing machines etc which you can use during
opening hours. Our instructors are always willing to assist you in
setting up workouts for any additional training
you might want to do. But for most people, the 3-4 Boot Camp classes per
week should be sufficient.
Which results can I expect in Boot Camp?
People's results are as different as their objectives. Some people want
to lose weight and decrease their body fat percentage while others seek
to gain muscle weight or simply improve their physical condition. You
will notice much improvement in your stamina, strength, mobility and
overall fitness. In addition to your physical results you will increase
your confidence and self-discipline as well as adopting a healthier
lifestyle.
I have an injury. Does that mean I can't attend Boot Camp classes?
Not at all. Our instructors are trained in adapting the workouts to any
special needs you might have. If you can't do some of our exercises our
instructors will have alternative exercises ready for you instead. Just
remember to keep our instructors informed of any illnesses or injuries
you might have so that we can take them into consideration and be
careful not to make them worse.
What makes Boot Camp unique?
Boot Camp has opened up a new way of training in Iceland and has gained
much respect over the years. Many people who simply don't want to work
out at a crowded gym have found that Boot Camp perfectly suited to their
needs, as the training is more personalized, personal and more fun. All
of our instructors have completed a specialized instructor course at
Boot Camp and hold certificates to verify their license. Many copycat
courses have tried to imitate Boot Camp but none have succeeded. Try a
session and you will feel the difference.
What do I need to bring to the training sessions?
All you need is comfortable training gear and good workout shoes. We
recommend that you bring a proper outfit, just in case a part of the
session takes place outdoors. During outdoor workouts, always dress
accordingly. When you start a 6 week course, you get a Boot Camp water
bottle which we encourage you to bring to each session. And don't forget
your positive mindset and iron will to make it through the workouts.
I want to start right away but the next course is weeks away. Do I have to wait until a new one starts?
No. Even though the courses start at a specific date, special
arrangements can be made for you to start right away. Contact us for
more information.
